When Nick (Ron's son) and I moved to our first house, Ron was one of the first to come and visit. We had a problem with our downstairs loo (it smelt a tiny bit!). Despite it being in the early evening of 31 December with new years eve festivities planned, he decided it was the perfect time to look at the drainage system and rod the drains. He knocked on all the neighbours doors and looked at the linkages between the drains and cleared the blockage on ours, fixing the smell. It was the first time we had met some of the neighbours, he was in their gardens, checking all their drains too! He loved it!
